A Taste of Obertan...

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has confirmed his interest in Gabby Obertan and hopes to seal the deal within 48hrs.

Obertan is set to have a medical on monday, the deal is said to be worth 3m on a 5yr contract. The 22yr old comes in after the departure of Wayne Routledge and is said to be a better option.

"All being well, the deal will be pushed through next week," Pardew said after the Fiorentina friendly.

"He has not really had the chance to shine at Old Trafford but he has pace to burn and will bring some much needed sharpness to our side."

A much needed boost for the toon army after the saga that is Joey Barton. Newcastle, however, still need a striker and the days are numbered.
