Delvin Ndinga Claims Newcastle Interest
Auxerre midfielder Delvin Ndinga, 23 may have been on Newcastle's list to replace Joey Barton.
“I preferred to stay in Ligue 1 for this season,” he said.
“I had contact with many foreign clubs like Tottenham, Newcastle and Sevilla and they requested information about me.
“Some made offers but we decided to stop the subject for a year. First I want to prove my worth in the French league.”
Whether this is genuine or just another publicity stunt will never be known especially knowing the club's position on communication.
